AGU'24 Town Hall: Ocean Community Solutions for the Next Generation
Promoting Connections and Collaborations Across Sectors
12:30 – 1:30 pm MST
The Center for Ocean Leadership (COL) serves, supports, and convenes the ocean science, education, and technology community to promote collaboration among and between academic, non-profit, and commercial sectors, as represented by the network of COL affiliate organizations, and government sponsors. In 2024 COL is hosting a series of virtual discussion forums with the ocean community. Topics include the ocean observing system and ocean workforce development, each contributing to a set of shared talking points for communicating priorities to policymakers and program managers and stimulating further collaboration. In this town hall, we will build upon the main outcomes of these virtual forums by seeking community input for future actions and initiating discussions to promote networking and connections across sectors. We welcome participation from all members of the ocean community interested in enhancing cross-sector collaboration, including from academic, non-profit, government, and commercial sectors, at all career stages.
