June & July 2025

COL advanced global partnerships at the UN Ocean Conference, celebrated NOSB student achievements and scholarships, launched the first UG2 newsletter, and brought ocean science priorities directly to policymakers on Capitol Hill.

April & May 2025

COL celebrated the 2025 NOSB champions, convened a strategic communications forum to amplify the ocean community’s voice, and advanced cutting-edge data management and AI tools through the Integrated Ocean Observing System.

February & March 2025

From hosting nationwide NOSB competitions and advancing ocean observing initiatives at the IOOS 25th Anniversary to shaping global dialogue on autonomous tools for marine conservation, COL continues to lead collaborations that strengthen ocean science and inspire future innovators.

December & January 24/25

The Center for Ocean Leadership shares new reports from recent forums and workshops on the ocean workforce, air–sea interactions, and underwater glider operations, along with a student challenge exploring ocean acoustics through art and science.

November 2024

April 2024

The Center for Ocean Leadership held its first virtual discussion forum on the modernization of the Ocean Observing System. We're planning more events, including a forum on fostering a diverse ocean workforce. Key updates include opportunities to provide input on marine carbon dioxide removal research, congressional ocean-related hearings, and several upcoming workshops and job openings in ocean sciences.
